I've partnered my unit with a pair of wall mounted Tannoy F1 Customs in a large kitchen and I enjoy the sound. Perfect for my needs. While I haven't done an A/B comparison with the likes of Denon or Onkyo, to me CD playback sounds crisp and clear and DAB reception is good. It's a classy looking unit. Wonder why What Hi-Fi never includes it in micro comparisons? On the downside, the CD loading tray failed on the first unit I had, and the turn around time to get it replaced was weeks rather than days - not good. Think my biggest gripe though, is the rather (surprisingly) poor quality speaker binding posts that, in spite of what the NAD website indicates, ('Multi-way Speaker Binding posts allow the use of high quality speaker cable') will NOT accept regular banana or spade speaker cable termination; had to cut mine off - weird. Overall? A classy looking unit with great sound but questionable mechanics.
